Part #2: Host Neville James is joined by Louis "Lolo" Willis to reminisce on the loss of Ronald Alexander "Ranche" Charles, the brilliant basketball player who helped Magic Johnson win the NCAA college basketball national championship with Michigan State University in 1979. Charles died on Monday at the age of 65. At the Government House weekly press conference, Governor Albert Bryan, Jr., announced the death of Ron Charles, a St. Croix native. The gymnasium of Central High School in St. Croix is named after Ron Charles. Charles was born in St. Croix and has played professionally for several clubs, including the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. Charles, a 6'7" forward/center, played collegiate basketball for MSU from 1976 to 1980. Throughout his sophomore and junior years, Charles helped the Spartans win back-to-back Big Ten championships, led by future Hall of Famer Magic Johnson. He spent several years playing professionally with the Chicago Bulls, with stops in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France. He returned to the United States in 1989, settling in Atlanta.

Part #2: Neville James continues Monday's "Table Talk" with Dwayne Henry, Donald "Ducks" Cole, and Almando "Rocky" Liburd. Many notable Democrats, including Reps. Adam Schiff of California, Jamie Raskin of Maryland, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, as well as the Congressional Black Caucus' political action committee, promptly endorsed Harris. Small-town contributors are rallying around Kamala Harris. Act Blue, the major Democratic fundraising platform, has announced that Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign has officially begun, following President Biden's announcement on Sunday that he was pulling out of the race and endorsing her as his successor. According to a campaign official, Harris raised $49.6 million in grassroots donations within hours of Biden's endorsement.

On Sunday, he issued a statement saying that he believed it would be best for his party and the country if he stepped aside to focus completely on his obligations as president for the balance of his term. Following his first comments, President Joe Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the party in the 2024 election.

Part #2: Crucian Radio Personality Mike Canton, in conversation with Neville James, hosts "Summer Style" on the Soul Show on WTJX-FM 93.1 this Saturday night from 8pm to 10pm. Mike Canton is the long-time host and producer of The Soul Show. The African American Public Radio Consortium distributes this show nationally and abroad. The show is a musical voyage through history and diverse styles of soul music. In 1995, Stephen Chatman and Don Patterson launched The Soul Show on WYEP-FM, Pittsburgh's longest-running adult alternative station. Canton co-hosted alongside Chatman in 2006 before becoming the solo host in 2009 and continues to do so now.
