Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign overcame a brutal few weeks of fund-raising in July to rebound so dramatically before the end of the month that she more than doubled former President Donald J. Trump's total and surpassed him in some battleground state polls. The Harris team reported raising $310 million this month, including $200 million in only seven days after President Biden pulled out of the race.

Part 1 - Ernesto Morales, a National Weather Service meteorologist, joins presenter Neville James for the latest report. Dwayne Henry, Donald "Ducks" Cole, and Almando "Rocky Liburd" then join Neville for Table Talk to discuss the Democratic primary election results, which show Kurt Vialet as the top candidate in the St. Croix District Senate race, followed by Clifford Joseph, Novelle Francis Jr., Kenneth "Kenny" Gittens, Hubert Frederick, Diane Capehart, and Marise James. Former Senator Nereida O'Reilly and Attorney Russell Pate were among the candidates that failed to proceed. Genevieve Whitaker, Michael Springer, Jr., and Justin Smith. Because there are only seven Democrats standing for Senate in St. Thomas, which is the same number of candidates approved as part of the primary election, there was no Democratic primary election in St. Thomas.

Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - Part 2

Part 2 - Neville James is then joined by Dr. Kristina Edwards, Director of the Division of Territorial Parks and Protected Areas, who has been a driving force within the DPNR, handling a wide range of environmental programs and actively involved in community efforts. The Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources announced Monday that it has received a $69 million grant from the Climate Resilience Regional Challenge. "The success of this grant is rooted in the dedication of the conservation community in the Virgin Islands," Director Kristina Edwards stated.

Part 1 - Host Neville James has returned from vacation. After settling in with the most recent information from the National Weather Service. Attorney Dwayne Henry joins Neville for some bush tea. They examine the stock market collapse on Monday, which has investors and analysts buzzing with speculation: Could this be a precursor to a recession in 2024? Also, with her surprise pick of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate on Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris made a direct appeal to the Democratic base.

Part 2 - Host Neville James and the "Table Talk" members change the conversation to local politics. The V.I. Board of Elections has announced that it will test the Express Vote and DS200 Voting Machines in preparation for the forthcoming primary election. The testing is set for Tuesday, July 30, at 5:30 p.m., at the Elections System of the Virgin Islands (ESVI) offices on St. Croix and St. Thomas.

Part 1 - Following an update from National Weather Service meteorologist Carlos Anselmi, host Neville James runs down the weekend's headlines before engaging the show's co-contributors, Donald "Ducks" Cole, Almando "Rocky" Liburd, and Dwayne Henry, for "Table Talk." An eerie silence descended on Venezuela's capital early Monday, a day after the country's opposition and entrenched incumbent Nicolás Maduro both declared victory in the presidential election, setting up a high-stakes stalemate.

Part 2 - Neville James is joined by Carloyn Fawkes, the Supervisor of Elections. The primary election is scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. over all three islands. On St. Croix, polling places include the D.C. Canegata Recreation Center, the St. Croix Educational Complex High School Gymnasium, and the Rotary West Community Center. On St. John in the Julius Sprauve School Cafeteria. St. Thomas at Charlotte Amalie High School, University of the Virgin Islands Sports & Fitness Center, and Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Cafeteria.
